"L’observatoire de l’âgisme est un collectif (réunissant associations, médias, chercheurs, individus), ayant pour objet d’assurer une veille documentaire et informative concernant l’âgisme, de développer les connaissances sur l’âgisme et de promouvoir réflexions et actions permettant de le prévenir et de lutter contre.

Par âgisme, nous entendons toute forme de discrimination, de ségrégation, d’exclusion, bref, de racisme, prenant l’âge pour motif – quel que soit cet âge."

Le plan Alzheimer 2008-2012 a été élaboré sur la base des travaux de la Commission présidée par le Professeur Joël Ménard. 

 Le plan ALZHEIMER 2008-2012 a été élaboré sur la base des travaux d'une commission présidée par le Pr Joel Ménard. Cette commission insitait sur l'importance de l'organisation d'une prise en soin globale de ces patients et de leurs aidants.

Le plan Alzheimer est composé de 44 mesures   réparties en trois axes complémentaires :

- Améliorer la qualité de vie des malades et des aidants

- Connaitre pour agir

- Se mobiliser pour un enjeu de société
